Gudea is developed and maintained by VeloVault. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
Gudea stores your fitness data (workouts, meals, body metrics, supplements, medications, and schedule) locally on your device using encrypted local storage. This data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly use a feature that requires it.
When you generate workout plans, meal plans, or use the AI Coach feature, a summary of your fitness profile (goal, diet, equipment preference, and relevant health context) is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. No names, emails, or identifying information is included in these requests. Anthropic does not use API data to train their models.
If you opt in, we collect anonymous usage statistics through Firebase Analytics: app installs, screen views, session duration, and crash reports. This helps us understand which features are used and fix bugs. No personal health data is included in analytics. You can disable this at any time in Settings.
Gudea shows ads through Google AdMob to support free access. By default, ads are non-personalized (contextual only). You can opt into personalized ads in Settings, which allows AdMob to use device information for ad targeting. You can also go ad-free, which completely disables AdMob and all ad-related data collection.
With your permission, Gudea reads health metrics from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), including:
Completed workouts can be written back to these platforms. This data exchange happens directly between your phone and the health platform — it is never uploaded to our servers.
Gudea uses your device camera to scan food barcodes. When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (an open-source food database) and optionally the USDA FoodData Central API to retrieve nutrition information. No user identity is attached to these requests.
With your permission, Gudea accesses your approximate location to provide weather-aware fitness recommendations through the AI Coach (e.g., air quality alerts for outdoor exercise). Location data is sent to Open-Meteo (a free weather API) and is not stored on our servers or associated with your identity.

Gudea is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes through the app. Continued use of Gudea after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
